This family friendly event is to help promote and show our communities that having fun doesn't need to involve alcohol. Join us in a weekend of activities cookout and picnic options for your family with friends and outdoor games. The more volunteers we have the more we can provide our community members with a location they are sure to make wonderful memories.
This event is to promote education on pioneer, frontier and time period historical lifestyles and tools. Please join us as we walk through time and visit the past. Seeking time period reenactment vendors please contact us emeraldgardensil@gmail.com for registering your booth and activities.
Our annual event Re-Everything Rally is on the second Saturday in June *(Knit in Public Day) This event is to promote Reuse, Reduce, Recycle. Re-build, Re-fashion, Re-create, ALL of the "Re-Everything" Vendors of handmade/handcrafted, pioneer, farmers market, beekeeper products, goat milk soaps (*please no over produced manufactured industrial items the are NEW) this event is to promote reducing waste to our landfills and promoting a second, third, fourth, life to items Demonstrations of how to basket weave, knit, spinning wool to yarn, and many other fun activities if you are interested in having a booth please contract Emerald Gardens at our email emeraldgardensil@gmail.com
We will be doing a fundraiser and will be releasing butterflies at our JUNE 14th Event Re-Everything Rally. Butterflies will be released at 2pm. Youth Activities such as face painting and crafts. Release In memory of a loved one. Bring a photo if you would like to display on the Memory Table. All funds raised will go towards our Memory Gardens Orchard Project. community members can purchase a butterfly (box //Package ) to release, see link below. More information to come as we get volunteers, and sponsors for this fundraiser. stay tuned . Butterfly package purchase: Please note that these will not ship to your location, they will be picked up the day of the event.
This is our first grand fundraiser, charity Ball/ Gala. The event theme is EMERALD, Enchanted forest/ enchanted garden there will be dancing and fun activities. 4pm to 10pm . more details to come as plans come together. seeking sponsorships for, venue costs, catering, photographer, decor for photo-ops, activities. we will only offer what we get enough sponsorship to provide as to not take way from the proceeds of the charity ball. All proceeds will fund local efforts for health and wellness, food security awareness and programs to get healthy fresh produce to those who are in need, new outreach partnership development with farmacy garden topic as well as our current programs with Gardens of Generosity as well as the Memory Gardens Orchard. some proceeds might also benefit some of our Partnerships with Emerald Gardens. The more we can raise to help local initiatives the more we can lift up our communities.

MUD PIE JULY event is to let the youth enjoy playing in the sand piles for sand castles and the dirt piles for making mud pies and other creative play this event is for the fun and education of soil we will offer an educational demonstration of how soil particles are made, the inorganic vs the organic parts to soil, as well as the living web of soil. join us for fun in the dirt, event hosted for our program "FOR THE LOVE OF DIRT" soil science and composting awareness for community
Stone Soup Festival is our fall harvest event to celebrate the yields of the Gardens of Generosity. This event promotes a waste-not; want-not approach to our holistic outreach. As one of the favorite fables/ folk tales of our founder, the story of the STONE SOUP is about community coming together and sharing resources. Celebrating this time honored season, we invite you to join us and make memories sharing resources.
Our Let Us Plant LETTUCE PLANT event is our spring cool season planting where we put in most of the remaining cool season plants. Join us and Volunteer for a day of fun in the gardens as we plant so many cool season crops.
MARCH Mulch Madness is our starting of a long season of mulching and expanding gardens. Will you join us, for this kick off to our mulching frenzy? we have over 20 dump truck loads of mulch to spread and advance our gardens for improving guest garden experiences. We will be finalizing our grant of 48 raised beds 8x4ft that the Taylorville High School Shop class made for our Gardens of Generosity. Our finally completion date installing and ready to plant is the end of March. Please help us get the raised beds installed with 32inch brick walkways between them. we are very excited for this 50x50 garden to be designated and sponsored by the Springfield Civic Garden Club awarding us a $2,000 grant to purchase lumber and the Support of the Taylorville High School Students making them. Now all we need to do is get them installed and ready to plant for 2025 season. thank you to all who have helped with this project. we are excited for the completion of this installation. also a lovely donation of 50 raised beds size of 47"x 31" lead to us being able to raise additional funds earmarked for another 43 beds of the exact size and make, the rest were purchased out of our general funds to bring a total of 175 raised beds size 47" x 31" ***making a grand total of raised beds for both protects equaling 223 beds this is supper exciting please join us for a massive day of installing brick paths and raised beds.
Public TOUR of the Gardens We will be offering Garden tour at 12:30am and 2pm Our March Mulch Madness Event will be the following Saturday 8th. Volunteers are also welcome to join us for preparing and gardens for planting and mulching.
Join us 10 am to 12pm in the Community Room at Taylorville Library for our FREE class on Plant Propagation Methods. We will discuss seeding, cuttings and more. Time for Q & A. Free Seeds from our Emerald Gardens seed bank.
Taylorville Library opens at 10am we will start the meeting shortly after and be done by 1pm. Our Holiday and Your Garden free class will follow 1pm to 3pm
